Research Focus
-Language as a Psychological Instrument
Developing computational methods that treat naturally occurring language as a measurement device for the mind. This includes the tools themselves alongside theoretical work on what verbal behavior can and cannot tell us about the people producing it.
-Personality, Values, and Mental Health
Characterizing who people are from what they say — personality traits, moral and personal values, political identity, and the clinical states that shape all of them. This work spans suicidality and self-injury, personality pathology, post-traumatic stress, and resilience alongside research on ideology, media, and the values that organize everyday life.
-Artificial Intelligence and Human Psychology
Examining large language models as both instruments and objects of psychological study — what they reveal about human connection, how they encode folk theories of mental illness, and what happens to social science when its subject matter starts talking back.
