Sandeep Neema

Dr. Sandeep Neema is the Director of the Institute for Convergent Software Integrated Systems, and a Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Vanderbilt University. He served as a Program Manager at the Information Innovation Office of DARPA from 2016 to 2022, where he developed multiple large scale research programs at the intersection of AI/ML and Cyber Physical Systems. During this time Dr. Neema received the prestigious Superior Public Service Medal for his contributions to the fields of artificial intelligence and cyber physical systems. Dr. Neema is a co-founder and scientific advisor of P-1.ai, a Silicon Valley venture capital backed startup building an engineering AGI, founded with the conviction that the greatest impact of artificial intelligence will be on the engineered world. Dr. Neema is also a co-founder and member of the Board of Directors of Metamorph Software Inc., a Nashville, Tennessee based company, that delivers software and services for model-based design and engineering of autonomous cyber physical systems. His research portfolio includes cyber physical systems, artificial intelligence, model-based design methodologies, and secure distributed real-time embedded systems. He has led numerous research projects in these areas funded by DARPA and NSF and published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles – journal publications, conference papers, and book chapters.
